Church of S. Bento:
It has its origins in a small chapel dedicated to this saint in the 15th century, that was later altered and expanded to become the parish church.
You will find a lot of rare wonderful paintings inside the church.
Next to the Church you'll find the old housing of the founder of the Ribeira Brava, the Visconde of the Ribeira Brava, Francisco Correia Heredia.
The City council possess a magnificent interior garden, with innumerable natural species. It is an ideal place for a walk to enjoy the beauty of the nature.
St. Bento Fort:
The Fort of St Bento was ruined in the XIXth century by French pirates. In 1916 its recovery took place.Today perfectly adapted to the visual context of the village, the fort serves now as a Tourist Office.
